Silver Alerts serve a specific purpose
Florida’s Silver Alert Plan is designed to help locate adults with dementia or other cognitive impairment who become lost while driving, according to the Florida Department of Transportation. WSVN describes Panaitescu as walking when she was last seen; that difference in circumstances does not establish what alert, if any, authorities used in this case.
