Knoxville woke Saturday to a sharp fall reset: light rain early, temperatures around 52 degrees, and a forecast high only 59 after recent summerlike heat. The rain should fade as the morning wears on, while north winds make the day feel cooler and occasionally gust to 25 mph.
Rain Fades, Wind Takes Over
According to the National Weather Service in Morristown, Saturday will turn partly sunny, with north winds of 10 to 15 mph and gusts up to 25 mph. Showers may linger longer over the higher mountains, where a little snow could mix in at the highest peaks, while Knoxville should trend drier and brighter by afternoon.
First Frost Risk Arrives Tonight
Clear skies and lighter northeast winds will set up a cold night, with temperatures near 40 in Knoxville and colder readings in higher terrain. The weather service says the first frost of the season is likely in parts of the region Saturday night, especially across the northern Plateau, Southern Appalachians, northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia; no watches, warnings or advisories are posted for Knoxville.
Sunny Stretch Builds Next Week
Sunday brings sunshine and a high near 65, followed by 68 Monday and 72 Tuesday. The warmup continues with highs around 75 Wednesday and Thursday and near 80 Friday.
The quick swing from a chilly Saturday to a 70s-heavy workweek is the latest turn in Knoxville’s unusually changeable October. It also updates Friday’s Hoodline forecast, which had already flagged the weekend cooldown but did not include Saturday morning’s current light rain and the clearer frost emphasis.
