A LEGO event is coming to Stonestown in San Francisco. It is separate from The Art of the Brick, a touring exhibition of sculptures inspired by well-known artworks.
KRON4 reported the Stonestown event. For the separate touring exhibition, artist Nathan Sawaya used more than a million bricks to create the collection, according to theartofthebrickexpo.com.
More Than 70 Works Reimagine Classic Masterpieces
The Art of the Brick includes over 70 works, according to its official listing. The collection includes brick interpretations of Van Gogh's Starry Night, Da Vinci's Mona Lisa and Michelangelo's David.
The exhibition reworks familiar art subjects in the geometric form of brick-built sculptures.
Ticketing Details Remain Limited
Details about the Stonestown event remain limited. The specific venue within Stonestown, opening dates, hours and ticket prices have not been detailed.
Stonestown Location and Transit
A San Francisco 19th Avenue Corridor Study places Stonestown Galleria on the west side of 19th Avenue between Eucalyptus Drive and Buckingham Way. The cited finding does not identify which Muni routes serve the center or nearby transit connections, so those details are not established here.
The Art of the Brick's site lists tickets for release on Thursday, November 4 at 9 a.m. PDT, though no year is given. That ticket information applies to the separate touring exhibition, not the Stonestown event.
