A man was hospitalized Sunday morning after a shooting near Percy Priest Lake in Antioch, with police still searching for whoever pulled the trigger. The call came in around 5:20 a.m. at 486 Bell Road, and officers at the scene said the man's injuries were noncritical.
According to WKRN News 2, the shooting happened early Sunday morning and left at least one person injured. WSMV reported the incident surfaced through the Metro Nashville Police Department's Active Dispatch page, and that officials said the investigation remains in its early stages with no suspect identified.
Few Details Released So Far
Beyond the location and the man's condition, police have not released information about what led to the shooting or who might be responsible. The same WSMV report notes that the man was taken to a local hospital following the incident, but officials have not disclosed a motive or a description of any suspect.
The scene sits near Percy Priest Lake, a stretch of Antioch that has seen gun violence before. The report comes just under a year after a separate shooting in the same area put another person in the hospital.
A Similar Case From Last Year
In that Nov. 28, 2025 incident, Metro Nashville police said a person was hospitalized after a fight broke out on Bell Forge Avenue, as reported by FOX 17. Police said at the time that one person had been shot in the head, though the injuries were described as not life-threatening, and a suspect search was underway following that shooting.
There is nothing in the current reporting tying Sunday's shooting to that earlier case, and no connection has been established between the two incidents. For now, Sunday's shooting remains an open investigation, with police yet to name a suspect or release further details about what happened on Bell Road.
