A man was stabbed in the face along Dr. D.B. Todd Jr. Boulevard in North Nashville, and police moved quickly enough that a suspect was in handcuffs before the night was over. The injuries were described as non-life-threatening, but the attack has left neighbors with more questions than answers about what sparked the violence.
Officers were called to the 1700 block of Dr. D.B. Todd Jr. Boulevard around 10 p.m., according to WKRN News 2. Responding officers found the victim with a laceration to his face, and his injuries were said to be non-life threatening, per the outlet's reporting.
Metro police reported that a suspect was located in the area and taken into custody without incident, the station's report states. Beyond that, authorities had not immediately released additional details — no names, no description of what led to the confrontation, and no word on what weapon was used or how the victim and suspect may have known each other.
A String of Recent Nashville Stabbings
This latest incident follows a string of stabbings reported around Nashville in recent months. Just days earlier, on Oct. 5, a man was stabbed in the chest at a Nashville apartment off U.S. Route 41, according to a Metro Nashville Police spokesperson cited by The Tennessean.
An earlier late-night stabbing along the 2000 block of Riverside Drive was also described as the city's second stabbing in under a week, with first responders finding that victim around 11:30 p.m. and transporting him for treatment, the same station reported. It's not clear whether that earlier case is connected in any way to Wednesday night's attack on Dr. D.B. Todd Jr. Boulevard.
For now, the full circumstances behind the North Nashville stabbing remain unclear, and police have not released further information on charges or the identities of those involved. Hoodline will update this story as more details become available.
