A California alcohol-license application has put a possible Masa’s Sushi location at 824 Main St. in downtown Pleasanton on the radar. WhatNow reported that paperwork was filed with the state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control for the address. The filing is a step in the process, not confirmation of an opening date or that the restaurant will begin operating.
A name linked to Novato
The Masa’s Sushi name is also associated with an existing restaurant in Novato. But that connection alone does not establish that the Pleasanton proposal would be a branch of the Marin County business. Ownership, the relationship between the locations, and any Pleasanton menu or hours have not been announced, according to the WhatNow report.
A separate downtown permit case
Another downtown case illustrates a different kind of local review, but offers no indication of the outcome at 824 Main Street. On Feb. 11, 2026, the Pleasanton Weekly reported that Naschmarkt, at 310 Main St., was seeking permission to operate a late-night bar on weekends. That request concerned another business and its hours; it is distinct from the ABC application reported for Masa’s Sushi.
For the proposed Pleasanton location, the reported address and application are the concrete details so far. Whether the Novato business is involved, and when or how a Pleasanton restaurant might operate, remain open questions.
