Memphis is waking to clear skies and temperatures near 59 degrees Wednesday, but the day is headed for a very warm 81-degree high. The calm, sunny setup is expected to hold through Thursday before rain chances return for Halloween weekend.
Sunny And Warm Through Thursday
Wednesday will stay sunny with light south-southeast winds generally 0 to 5 mph. Wednesday night drops to 54, then Thursday repeats the sunshine and reaches 81 again; Thursday night will be partly cloudy with a low around 55.
Dry weather is welcome, but it comes with a caution for outdoor burning. The National Weather Service in Memphis says drought and dry fuels will keep fire risk elevated through Thursday, and residents should continue following any local burn bans.
Rain Arrives For Halloween Weekend
Friday stays partly sunny and warm near 80, though clouds build late. A slight chance of showers develops after 1 a.m. Friday night, rising to a 40% chance of showers Saturday as temperatures top out around 76.
The wettest stretch currently looks to arrive Saturday night, when showers and thunderstorms are likely with a 70% chance of rain. Sunday remains mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms and a high near 73, with additional shower chances continuing into early next week.
One More Dry-Day Reminder
Morning fog may still form in low-lying areas even as afternoons stay sunny and warm. If outdoor plans include fire or debris burning, check local restrictions before lighting up, since dry conditions remain a concern.
