Milwaukee police are asking for the public's help finding a critically missing 9-year-old boy who vanished Tuesday night while walking alone through a city neighborhood. Adonis Green was last seen walking south in the 2100 block of North 33rd Street at about 9:25 p.m., and investigators have not said where he may have gone from there.
What Police Know So Far
According to WISN, Green is described as 4 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 76 pounds, with curly black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black-and-yellow shirt decorated with a snowman, blue jeans with yellow stitching, and black-and-gray Crocs featuring a spider design — a distinctive combination police are hoping will jog someone's memory. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call Milwaukee police at 414-935-7232.
The outlet's report, published early Wednesday, labeled the search a developing story, meaning details about the case could still change as investigators learn more. No further information about the circumstances surrounding his disappearance has been released.
A Familiar Name for Milwaukee Police
This is not the first time Adonis Green has been the subject of a critically missing child alert in Milwaukee. In September, police said the same boy, also described then as 4 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 76 pounds, was last seen near North 41st and West Townsend streets at around 6:45 p.m. on September 18, according to FOX6 News. At that time, he was wearing a blue shirt under a blue sweatshirt and brown khaki pants, a notably different outfit than the one described in Tuesday's search.
That earlier search ended with an update from police confirming Green had been found and was safe, the station reported at the time. It is not known whether this week's disappearance is connected in any way to the incident from last month.
For now, Milwaukee police are relying on the public to help locate the boy, and anyone who spots someone matching his description is asked to contact authorities right away.
