A 26-year-old Murfreesboro man is facing child rape charges after officials say he solicited an 11-year-old online, drove to Ohio to pick the child up, and brought her back to his apartment, where FBI agents moved in and arrested him. Dylan Osborne was taken into custody on Sunday, October 25, and remains held on $100,000 bond at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.

According to WKRN News 2, the Murfreesboro Police Department opened its investigation into Osborne after the FBI's Cleveland Field Office alerted Nashville authorities that he was allegedly soliciting an 11-year-old online for sexual purposes. Officials said the joint investigation that followed revealed Osborne had traveled across state lines to meet the child he had been communicating with over the internet.

Investigators allege Osborne drove to Willard, Ohio, and brought the child back with him to Murfreesboro. Once there, FBI agents conducted surveillance outside his apartment, and on October 25, agents reportedly observed Osborne make a sexual advance toward the child, the station reported.

Agents Moved In Under Exigent Circumstances

Per the Murfreesboro Police Department, FBI agents then entered Osborne's apartment under exigent circumstances and took him into custody that same day. Authorities said the child was recovered safely, according to the police department's account relayed to the station.

Osborne is now scheduled to appear in court on November 30. The station's report notes that federal charges against him are reportedly pending, along with additional charges in Ohio, though neither has been confirmed through court filings. Authorities said no additional case details were released immediately.

The case adds to a string of online solicitation investigations in Murfreesboro. A Murfreesboro Police Department archive lists a past undercover operation that led to the arrest of two men accused of soliciting minors, though it is not established whether that case has any connection to Osborne's.
