Kaiya Jackson, 16, of Murfreesboro, was reported missing and has since been safely located. The alert said she was last seen October 23 wearing a white long-sleeve T-shirt, tan cheetah-print pajama pants and a gray hoodie.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced the Endangered Child Alert on behalf of the Murfreesboro Police Department, according to a Tennessee Bureau of Investigation post on Facebook. The agency described Jackson as 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
What Authorities Know So Far
The alert, published early Monday, lists Jackson's last known location and clothing description.
Officials are asking anyone who has seen Jackson or has information about where she might be to contact the Murfreesboro Police Department at 615-893-1311 or the TBI's toll-free tip line at 1-800-TBI-FIND. The dual contact numbers give the public a direct line to both the local agency leading the search and the state bureau coordinating the alert.
Why the Alert Matters
The TBI issues Endangered Child Alerts at the request of local law enforcement when a missing child’s safety is a concern. The alert can bring wider attention to a case beyond the local community.
How Tennessee’s Alerts Differ
According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, an Endangered Child Alert is reserved for missing-child cases in which there is concern for the child’s safety. The bureau says AMBER Alerts are reserved for the most serious cases, when law enforcement believes a child is in imminent danger. Other Murfreesboro cases illustrate how alerts can differ, but are not connected to Jackson’s case. WKRN reported that 2-year-old Harleigh Stover was found safe after a TBI Endangered Child Alert in April 2025; the report said she was believed to have been with her non-custodial father. In a separate 2024 case, WREG reported, 7-year-old Iris Crum’s Endangered Child Alert was later upgraded to an AMBER Alert; she was found safe in Texas on March 10. Investigators said she was believed to be with her non-custodial mother.
The alert post did not provide further details about Jackson’s case. It asked anyone with information to contact investigators using the numbers listed above.
