Planning a Visit and Finding the Spot
Diners hoping to try the menu should know the restaurant's seating policy. To preserve dining quality, Nikkei 40 accepts weekday table reservations for a limited number of guests while reserving Saturdays exclusively for walk-in patrons, operating Monday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., according to the restaurant's own site, Nikkei40.com.
The restaurant sits in Suite 107 of a hard-corner retail complex near Interstate 15 and 4500 South. Taylorsville is also home to Vietnamese restaurant Ooh Pho.
City Leaders Lean Into Culinary Diversity
Taylorsville Mayor Kristie Overson has framed openings like this one as part of a broader civic strategy. Speaking at a 2026 City Council meeting, Overson said the city actively encourages diverse dining concepts that give residents opportunities to experience varied cultures locally, Taylorsville News reported. The city hosted several multi-cultural restaurant openings in 2026, including Guatemalan restaurant Chapinlandia, the outlet noted.
Nikkei 40's debut follows a pattern of ChamberWest and city officials turning out for restaurant milestones along Taylorsville's commercial corridors. Hoodline reported in March that the same civic partners celebrated a 60-seat expansion at the 5400 South Texas Roadhouse location to address heavy dinner rush traffic, amid steady commercial movement and tenant turnover along the 5400 South corridor.
