Noko Yaki is scheduled to open Friday, Nov. 6, at 3201 West End Avenue, where Tin Angel operated until closing in 2019 after nearly 26 years. The new restaurant is planned to seat about 150, according to Nashville Scene.

The project comes from the group behind Noko and Kase x Noko. Noko Yaki’s website describes it as an Asian-inspired steakhouse led by chef Dung “Junior” Vo, with influences from Japanese yakiniku and Korean barbecue. Noko Hospitality says it was founded in 2023 and is based in Nashville, according to the group.

The restaurant plans to begin with dinner service only. Reservations will initially open two weeks ahead at 11 a.m., with plans to extend the booking window to six weeks once service is established. Bar seats will be available to walk-ins, and a private dining room will accommodate groups, Nashville Scene reported.

At the table, servers will cook beef on built-in grills; fish and other dishes will come from the kitchen, the Scene reported. One $62-per-person selection pairs two ounces each of prime filet, prime New York strip, wagyu ribeye and the restaurant’s wagyu galbi, served with banchan. Other menu items include furikake-and-hot-honey onion rings and miso mashed potatoes. The restaurant also plans to offer Kobe beef and Japanese, American and Australian wagyu.

The drinks program will include cocktails, beer, wine and spirit-free options. Sake is priced from $13 a glass to $350 a bottle, and the bar menu is expected to feature edamame, crudo and kimchi crab dip with potato chips, according to Nashville Scene.

The opening date follows earlier estimates that pointed to a summer debut. WhatNow reported that projection in July, before the Nov. 6 date was announced.

Tin Angel’s final service

Tin Angel’s final dinner service was scheduled for March 23, 2019, at 3201 West End Avenue, Eater Nashville reported. Owners Rick and Vicki Bolsom were retiring and selling the building and restaurant. Noko Yaki is now scheduled to open at the same address.
