An Endangered Silver Advisory is out for Loujean Bass, an 80-year-old woman who disappeared from her north St. Louis home overnight. Police say she was last seen wearing red scrubs, a red blanket and green shoes, and that she regularly spends time in the Natural Bridge area.
According to FOX 2, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reported Bass missing around 9 p.m. Monday in the 4100 block of Clara Place. The advisory covering her case was issued Tuesday after word of her disappearance spread.
Door Found Open Overnight
Bass was reported missing after her significant other woke up and found the door to their home open, the station reports. He searched the area himself but was unable to locate her. Police said he told them Bass would normally return within an hour whenever she had gone out before, which is part of what prompted the urgency behind the search.
Police say Bass frequents the Natural Bridge area, a detail investigators are highlighting as they look for leads on where she may have gone. She is described as a Black woman with a dark complexion, black hair and brown eyes, standing 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 150 pounds.
What To Do If You See Her
Anyone with information about Bass's whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department at 314-444-0001. The Endangered Silver Advisory system that triggered Tuesday's alert is described by the Missouri State Highway Patrol as a voluntary partnership between law enforcement and local broadcasters meant to rapidly spread word about a missing and endangered adult.
No update on Bass's whereabouts has been made public since the advisory went out. Residents in the Clara Place and Natural Bridge corridor are being asked to stay alert as the search continues.
