Northshore Toyota is in the middle of a construction push to expand its service facility in Covington, with crews working through site prep, foundation pours and drainage upgrades as the dealership looks to accommodate growing operations and increase vehicle service capacity.
What the Expansion Includes
The project, now under construction, is designed to add vehicle service areas, office space, restrooms and other support facilities, vehicle inventory storage, and employee break areas, according to New Orleans CityBusiness. Gulf States Construction Services is serving as general contractor on the job, a role the firm confirmed in its own announcement on October 5. “Gulf State Construction Services is excited to be serving as the General Contractor for a new service shop expansion at Northshore Toyota,” the company said in a statement posted by Gulf States Real Estate Services.
Beyond the new spaces themselves, the construction scope covers site preparation, drainage improvements, utilities work and building foundation work, per the same CityBusiness report. Paving, completion of the building slab and assembly of a pre-engineered metal building are also part of the plan. Gulf States Construction Services oversees the work and coordinates subcontractors and construction phases throughout the build.
A Covington-Based Contractor on the Rise
Gulf States Construction Services is based in Covington and has posted notable growth heading into this project. The company reported 184% revenue growth over three years, reaching $12.2 million in 2025, the outlet's earlier coverage found. Founded in 1992, the firm provides general contracting, construction management, project management, commercial renovations and new construction services, and it credited its growth to construction activity that has remained diversified across sectors rather than overconcentrated in any one asset class.
The company is led by founder and president Mike Saucier and operates alongside sister firms Gulf States Real Estate Services and Gulf States Development Services. Gulf States Real Estate Services offers commercial real estate brokerage, site selection, property sales and development planning services, while the two companies together provide services ranging from property acquisition and development planning to construction and facility expansions. A search-result snippet referenced by CityBusiness described the 2025 completion of the Kia of Covington location off U.S. 190 Service Road as one of Gulf States' biggest projects, though that detail comes from a limited excerpt rather than a full account.
No project cost, completion date or job-creation figures tied to the Northshore Toyota expansion have been made public. For now, the work on the ground in Covington continues as crews move through the early construction phases outlined by Gulf States Construction Services.
