An 82-year-old Oak Creek woman has died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash at 27th Street and Puetz Road, an intersection on the Franklin-Oak Creek boundary. Franklin police said Wednesday they had learned she did not survive, FOX6 Milwaukee reported.
Franklin police said officers responded at about 12:24 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a two-vehicle crash. Franklin police and fire crews, along with Oak Creek police and fire personnel, went to the scene. The intersection sits along the municipal boundary, with 27th Street marking the dividing line between the two communities, according to FOX6 Milwaukee.
Planned Puetz Road Pathway
A City of Franklin flyer for an Oct. 28, 2025, public-involvement meeting described plans for an off-road shared-use path along W. Puetz Road between S. 76th Street and W. St. Martins Road. The flyer does not specify how close the project area is to 27th Street, or connect the project to this crash or its cause.
Fire department personnel took the woman to a local hospital after the crash. Police said they learned Wednesday that she had died from her injuries, according to FOX6 Milwaukee.
Investigation Remains Active
Fire department personnel also transported the other driver to a hospital, police said. The driver has cooperated with investigators, and the department says the investigation remains active, FOX6 Milwaukee reported.
Police have not released further details about what led to the crash.
