
Oakland police are asking anyone with information, video or photos to help investigators identify what happened in an early-Sunday-morning shooting on Rilea Way. Officers responded just after 2:30 a.m. to the 4300 block of Rilea Way and found a victim with an apparent gunshot wound, according to NBC Bay Area.
According to NBC Bay Area, the Oakland Police Department is investigating the predawn attack, and the victim was transported to a hospital where they were listed in stable condition. The outlet reports that, per a preliminary investigation, the suspect allegedly pointed a firearm at the victim and fired as the victim tried to shield themselves with a raised arm, then pistol-whipped them.
Police Seek Tips and Evidence
Police have not released the identities of the victim or suspect, according to the report.

Earlier Oakland Case Involved Both a Shooting and Pistol-Whipping

Another Oakland Shooting In another incident, KRON4 reported that one person was hospitalized after officers responded just before 7:30 p.m. on a Tuesday to the 440 block of San Leandro Street, where a victim was also found with apparent gunshot wounds and taken to a hospital in stable condition. That outlet reported the cause of the San Leandro Street shooting was unclear and remained under investigation, with authorities there also directing tips to OPD's felony assault division and the same [email protected] inbox. The shootings occurred at different locations, and authorities directed tips to the same inbox.
The Rilea Way investigation remains active. Police have not released further details about what preceded the attack or said whether a weapon was recovered or whether witnesses or surveillance footage have come forward.
