Orlando is waking up to clear skies and temperatures in the low 60s Thursday, with sunshine pushing the afternoon high near 80 degrees. Rain is not expected in the city, but north winds will keep things breezy as a much rougher weekend pattern takes shape.
Temperatures should climb through the 60s and 70s during the morning before topping out near 80 Thursday afternoon. Thursday night is expected to stay dry with a low around 61, setting up another sunny Friday near 80 degrees.
Afternoon Winds Pick Up
North winds will run 10 to 15 mph Thursday, with gusts reaching about 20 mph. Friday looks similarly sunny, but northeast winds could gust as high as 30 mph, making open areas and exposed roads noticeably blustery.
Weekend Brings Showers And Stronger Gusts
Saturday brings a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m., along with a high near 81 and northeast gusts up to 40 mph. Saturday night could bring more showers, while Sunday stays mostly sunny with a slight rain chance and gusts that may reach 40 mph.
The biggest safety concern will be along the Atlantic coast rather than in Orlando itself. The National Weather Service in Melbourne says rough surf, beach erosion, minor coastal flooding and a high risk of strong, life-threatening rip currents could continue through the weekend and into early next week, with offshore seas building to 12 to 15 feet by late Saturday.
Windy Pattern Lingers Into Next Week
Monday and Tuesday should remain mostly sunny in Orlando, with highs near 79 to 80 degrees, but northeast winds will stay strong. Gusts could reach 35 mph Monday and 25 mph Tuesday, making the next several days a poor match for unsecured patio furniture, lightweight decorations or casual beach plans.
The latest outlook is a substantive update to Hoodline’s earlier forecast, with the focus now shifting from a short sunny break to a longer stretch of gusty weather. Orlando residents heading east should check beach and marine conditions before leaving and avoid entering the water when dangerous surf or rip-current warnings are posted.
