Families across the Oklahoma City metro who rely on pediatric endocrinology and neurology care are facing a scramble this month. Oklahoma Children's OU Health has announced a new clinic in Northwest Oklahoma City just as INTEGRIS Health's Pediatric Endocrinology Clinic prepares to formally close on October 16, 2026.
The new location, called the Oklahoma Children's OU Health-Northwest Clinic, sits at 3330 N.W. 56th St., Suite 400, in Oklahoma City, according to KOKH. The outlet reports the clinic is designed to support children with neurological and endocrine conditions by expanding access to specialized pediatric neurology and endocrinology services in one convenient spot.
Michael Steiner, physician-in-chief at Oklahoma Children's and chair of pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, framed the opening around access. “Every family deserves access to high-quality specialty care for their child,” Steiner said, per the station's report. The clinic, per the same account, brings together an expanded team of pediatric specialists in a single location and connects families with the broader services available through Oklahoma Children's OU Health.
INTEGRIS Closure Forces New Appointments
The timing is no coincidence for many families. Pediatric endocrinology appointments previously scheduled through INTEGRIS Health now require a brand-new appointment with Oklahoma Children's for any dates falling after October 16, 2026 — INTEGRIS appointments will not transfer automatically, the station notes.
INTEGRIS Health has confirmed its pediatric endocrinology program will close in October and the system says it is no longer able to see patients who need non-urgent endocrine consultations, according to KFOR. Dr. Ankur Rughani is a pediatric endocrinologist in Oklahoma City.
What Families Need to Do Before Oct. 16
For families still working through the transition, the station lays out a clear timeline. Medication refills should be requested by October 13, 2026, and pediatric endocrinology patients are urged to keep working with their current clinic for prescription refills, medical questions, test results and urgent care needs right up until the October 16 closure date.
Families needing pediatric endocrinology appointments at the new clinic should call 572-244-0118, while those needing pediatric neurology appointments should call 572-244-0041. Patients with urgent diabetes or endocrine concerns may call 572-244-0000 after October 16, 2026 — a number the report stresses is intended strictly for urgent clinical needs, not routine scheduling.
A Broader Pediatric Specialty Network
Beyond the new Northwest location, Oklahoma Children's OU Health describes its pediatric endocrinology program as built around a multidisciplinary care model. According to OU Health, a child's care team may include board-certified endocrinologists, pediatric nurse specialists, clinical psychologists and other specialists working together, with services treating glandular, hormonal and metabolic conditions such as growth, thyroid, adrenal and bone disorders. OU Health notes that pediatric endocrinology is offered in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, while pediatric neuroscience services extend to Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Norman.
On the neurology side, OU Health describes itself as the only site in Oklahoma offering pediatric epilepsy surgery alongside a comprehensive ketogenic diet program. INTEGRIS Health, for its part, had previously described its own pediatric endocrinology service as delivering comprehensive, evidence-based diabetes and endocrine care for infants, children and adolescents, covering conditions including type 1 and type 2 diabetes, cystic fibrosis-related diabetes, and thyroid, pituitary, adrenal and bone disorders, according to INTEGRIS Health.
For now, the most urgent task for affected families is sorting out logistics before the clock runs out. With medication refill requests due by October 13 and the INTEGRIS clinic closing just three days later, parents navigating the switch have a narrow window to lock in continuity of care through the new Northwest Oklahoma City clinic.
