Parlour Pizza + Pints was supposed to cut the ribbon on its second Lexington location in the Hamburg shopping district this past Friday, Oct. 9, but the grand opening has been postponed. The pizza chain attributed the delay to an unexpected issue and says it will announce a new date soon, according to WKYT.
The Hamburg store was set to mark Parlour's expansion into East Lexington's busy retail corridor, adding to its existing location on Harrodsburg Road. That original Lexington restaurant opened in October 2024 as the chain's seventh overall location, bringing 7,000 square feet of dining space and an outdoor patio to the Turfland area, according to Pizza Marketplace. Along with its Richmond and Louisville locations, Parlour now has seven open restaurants spanning Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
Also postponed was the VIP charity night planned to coincide with the grand opening, per the same WKYT report. Parlour has not yet said when either event will be rescheduled, but the chain said in a statement that it appreciates everyone's patience and looks forward to welcoming customers to its newest Lexington location.
A Growing Footprint Across Kentucky
Parlour Pizza + Pints was founded in 2017 in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and is backed by Louisville-based investment firm Neace Ventures. Parlour CEO and president Don Robinson leads the chain. Neace Ventures also holds stakes in Falls City Beer and Old 502 Winery, according to WDRB. The company announced in September that it also plans to open a location at 2224 Dundee Road in Louisville's Highlands neighborhood, renovating the former Dundee Tavern site with interior updates and a covered indoor-outdoor patio — a project Hoodline previously reported.
Behind the scenes, the Hamburg location has taken steps related to serving alcohol. Legal filings from September show that an entity called Parlour KY - Hamburg Pl, LLC applied for NQ Retail Malt Beverage Package and NQ2 Retail Drink licenses, according to filings reviewed by iPublish MarketPlace.
Why Hamburg Makes Sense for the Chain
The Hamburg commercial area in East Lexington was converted from the historic Hamburg Place thoroughbred farm during the 1990s and has since grown into one of Central Kentucky's busiest retail and dining corridors, Hoodline has reported. The corridor has drawn other recent dining additions. Vinaigrette Salad Kitchen kept its two Lexington restaurants open after its final Louisville store closed.
Parlour's menu centers on handcrafted 10-inch artisan pizzas, including fan favorites like The Dr. and Hot Honey Pepperoni, alongside stuffed Pepperoni Bombs, house-smoked wings, calzones, and grinders, according to On3.
For now, Lexington diners eager to check out the Hamburg location will have to wait for a new date. Parlour has not specified what caused the delay or when the rescheduled grand opening and VIP charity night will take place.
