A new veterinary clinic is taking shape in Webster, where Petfolk is building out a Greater Houston location at 144 El Dorado Blvd. Construction is already underway and expected to wrap up in December 2026, though the company has not said when the doors will actually open to pet owners.
The Webster project marks the latest step in Petfolk's steady march across the region, according to Community Impact, which reported that “Petfolk is continuing its Greater Houston expansion with the addition of its upcoming Webster location.” The outlet also confirmed that construction is underway and will be completed in December, while noting that an official opening date has not yet been announced.
Petfolk was founded by veterinarian Dr. Audrey Wystrach, whose more than 29 years in practice shaped the company’s model. In October 2023, Petfolk announced a $40 million Series B funding round and said it had grown from one Charlotte location in 2021 to 11 locations. The company also described a partner program that gives veterinarians a path to shared clinic economics and equity without requiring them to buy in. The funding announcement framed the expansion as part of a broader effort to build a multi-market, veterinarian-led care company.
Once finished, the Webster care center is expected to mirror what Petfolk has built elsewhere in the region: primary, sick and urgent care alongside diagnostics, surgeries and dental care, per the same report. That service lineup lines up closely with what Petfolk already offers at its Missouri City location, which opened June 26 as the company's fifth Greater Houston site.
A Growing Footprint Across the Region
Before Missouri City came online, Petfolk's Greater Houston locations included Vintage Park, Pearland, Sugar Land and Fulshear, the news outlet's report on the Missouri City opening noted. The Fulshear care center, according to Petfolk's own pressroom, rounds out its menu with wellness, urgent care, surgery and dental services, part of the chain's effort to put full-service animal hospitals within reach of suburban pet owners spreading out from the city core.
Webster would extend a Houston-area network that Petfolk’s current location directory lists at five centers: Fulshear, Missouri City, Pearland, Sugar Land and Vintage Park. If it opens as planned, the Webster clinic would be the company’s sixth in the market. The directory gives a snapshot of the network residents can use while the new site is under construction, rather than a promise about when Webster appointments will become available. Petfolk’s Houston location directory lists the five existing centers and their addresses.
The pattern holds beyond Texas, too. At its Flower Mound clinic in the Dallas area, Petfolk promotes preventive care paired with same-day urgent access, on-site diagnostics, surgery and dental services, framing the approach as everyday care paired with proactive prevention to stay ahead of problems before they escalate, the company says on its clinic page.
What the Clinic Promises Once It Opens
Petfolk markets itself around convenience as much as medicine. The company's website says its model includes same-day treatment for everything a pet might need, every day of the week, and backs that up with a mobile app that lets customers message their care team around the clock, book appointments and pull up records anytime.
Texas’ veterinary workforce is heavily concentrated in its largest cities, though the statewide count includes both veterinarians and veterinary technicians. Texas A&M, citing Bureau of Labor Statistics figures for May 2022, put the combined total at 18,810 and said roughly 73% worked in the state’s largest cities, including Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio. The university has organized outreach clinics in rural communities where access is more difficult. Texas A&M’s account of that outreach highlights how access challenges vary across the state.
That blueprint has already been tested at Petfolk's older Houston-area sites. At the Vintage Park location, which opened in November as the company's second Greater Houston clinic, the practice was described as open seven days a week with services spanning primary care, urgent care, vaccinations, surgery and dental care, among others, according to a search-result snippet tied to Community Impact's coverage of that opening.
For now, Webster pet owners will have to wait. Construction crews are working toward the December target, but Petfolk has kept quiet on exactly when the El Dorado Boulevard location will start seeing patients. Until then, the company's existing Greater Houston network, stretching from Vintage Park to Missouri City, remains the closest option for residents hoping to tap into Petfolk's same-day care model.
