Plainfield police are asking the public for help finding Ziairah Johnson, a 15-year-old girl who has been missing since Saturday. She was last seen wearing an oversized gray T-shirt and black leggings, and officers say she may be trying to reach Norwich, New London or the New Haven area.
According to WFSB, Johnson was last heard from around 2 p.m. Saturday near the Sunoco gas station in Plainfield. A slightly different time was reported by WTNH, which said she was last known to be in that area around 1:47 p.m. Both outlets, citing Plainfield police, place her final known location at the gas station on Norwich Road.
Police describe Johnson as 4 feet 11 inches tall and about 125 pounds, with red and black hair and brown eyes. The same physical description was relayed by the station's report, which added that she was last seen in the oversized gray T-shirt and black leggings noted by investigators.
Possible Destinations Worry Investigators
What has investigators especially concerned is the range of places Johnson could be heading. Police said possible destinations for Johnson include Norwich, New London and the New Haven area, according to the same account — a spread of locations across multiple Connecticut counties that complicates efforts to track her down.
The Plainfield Police Department has asked anyone with information about Johnson's whereabouts to come forward and make contact with investigators. No further update on her status has been made available.
