Portland is waking Sunday under mostly cloudy skies near 50 degrees, with rain set to move in this morning and a high near 60. The wet stretch will not be a one-day cameo: showers continue Sunday night and Monday, with more rain chances filling much of the workweek.
The National Weather Service in Portland puts Sunday rain chances around 90%, with a quarter- to half-inch possible. Rain is expected through the afternoon, making for a soggy Sunday travel window.
Rain Through Monday, Then A Brief Breather
Sunday night stays rainy and cloudy, with temperatures near 47 degrees. Monday brings another wet day, a high around 58 and an 80% chance of rain, while Tuesday remains mostly cloudy with a high near 61 and only a slight chance of light rain.
The latest outlook extends the unsettled pattern beyond the Sunday-Monday system described in Hoodline's earlier Portland forecast. Tuesday night and Wednesday stay damp, while Thursday brings a lower chance of rain and some partial sunshine.
Some Relief Arrives Late In The Week
Friday offers a better shot at a break, with partly sunny skies, a high near 56 and a chance of rain. Saturday looks partly sunny with a high near 57.
Cool Mornings And No Land Alerts
Overnight lows settle mostly in the upper 30s to upper 40s, so wet weather will come with a distinctly chilly fall feel. The weather service says the expected rainfall through early Tuesday is not expected to create flooding concerns.
