Minneapolis is starting Sunday with light rain and temperatures around 48 degrees, and the damp, gray pattern is not leaving quietly. Showers may come and go through the afternoon, with a high near 57 and another chance of rain Sunday night as temperatures fall to about 43.
The Sunday forecast calls for a 40% chance of rain, with mostly cloudy skies and light north winds. The rain should generally stay light, but it may make for a soggy finish to the weekend across the Twin Cities.
Monday Looks Like The Wettest Day
Monday brings a more persistent round of rain, with an 80% chance of showers and highs in the 40s. The National Weather Service Twin Cities/Chanhassen office says the Twin Cities could see roughly a quarter-inch to a half-inch of rain, while heavier totals are expected farther west.
Monday night should remain rainy and breezy, with east winds reaching 10 to 15 mph. Temperatures will hover in the lower to middle 40s, making umbrellas and a waterproof jacket useful for evening trips around town.
Warmer Air Returns Tuesday
The forecast turns noticeably warmer Tuesday, when a few early showers could give way to partly sunny skies and a high near 64. South winds are expected, and another round of showers is possible Tuesday night.
Wednesday stays mild, with a high near 65 and a chance of showers, while Thursday looks like the week’s clearest break with mostly sunny skies and a high around 62. Warmer temperatures and occasional rain chances are possible later in the week.
Halloween carries a 40% to 60% chance of precipitation, so outdoor plans may need flexibility.
