Salt Lake City is waking up to clear skies and temperatures around 57 degrees Friday, with a sunny afternoon ahead and a high near 84. The warm, dry stretch will continue through the weekend, with Sunday shaping up as the hottest day at about 87 degrees.
Friday should stay bright from morning through late afternoon, with light south-southeast winds around 5 mph and no rain expected. Skies will turn partly cloudy Friday night, but temperatures will only dip to around 61 degrees.
Weekend Heat Peaks Sunday
Saturday will be partly sunny and just as warm, reaching about 84 degrees before a partly cloudy night with a low near 59. Sunday brings full sunshine and the week’s top forecast temperature, near 87 degrees, followed by a mild overnight low around 63, according to National Weather Service.
The early-week outlook remains warm but trends slightly cooler. Monday should reach about 85 degrees under mostly sunny skies, while a weak system moving across the Great Basin could bring gustier winds and put a pause on the warming trend.
Dry Weather Holds Through Thursday
Tuesday is forecast to be sunny with a high near 83, followed by a clear night around 58 degrees. Wednesday and Thursday stay sunny as well, with highs near 81 and 82, respectively, and no meaningful rain expected in the Salt Lake City forecast.
The National Weather Service says temperatures should run roughly 10 degrees above seasonal averages for much of the period. No watches, warnings or advisories are in effect for the area, though the dry air and occasional stronger winds will keep outdoor conditions feeling more summerlike than early October.
