Chicago is starting Friday with temperatures near 49 degrees, mostly clear skies and light northerly to calm winds, becoming northeast after daybreak. The city should warm to around 60 degrees under partly sunny skies. The bigger weather story arrives after dark, when scattered showers are expected to move in.
Rain Arrives Before Halloween
Showers could begin after 7 p.m. Friday, with cloudy skies and a low near 51 degrees overnight. The National Weather Service expects the greatest coverage from late Friday night into Saturday morning.
Halloween looks mild but damp across Chicago. Saturday will be cloudy with a 70% chance of rain showers and a high near 60 degrees, while the rain should become less widespread by Saturday afternoon and evening. Lingering light showers or drizzle could still complicate trick-or-treating, so a rain jacket may be more useful than a winter coat.
A Mild, Unsettled Week Ahead
Sunday brings mostly cloudy skies, a high near 64 degrees and a slight chance of isolated showers. Monday and Tuesday turn warmer, with highs near 66 and 69 degrees, but rain chances increase again as another stretch of unsettled weather moves through.
Showers remain possible Wednesday and Thursday as temperatures ease back to the lower and mid-60s. No watches, warnings or advisories were listed for the Chicago area, but the repeated rounds of rain could mean a string of gray commutes and soggy outdoor plans.
