St. Louis is waking up to clear, nearly calm conditions Thursday morning near a weak front. The brief chill will not last long: the National Weather Service forecast calls for temperatures in the low to mid 80s Thursday, followed by a hotter Friday that could reach 90.
Sunny Thursday Gives Way To Friday Heat
Thursday will stay sunny with no rain expected. By Friday, the National Weather Service expects south-southwesterly low-level flow. Humidity remains low, and temperatures could approach St. Louis’ daily record high of 89 degrees.
The National Weather Service says the combination of warm temperatures, dry air and breezy pockets could create localized elevated fire-weather conditions Friday afternoon, although winds currently appear too light for a widespread threat. Outdoor burning and campfires still deserve extra caution.
Weekend Plans Get A Rain Question
Cloud cover could limit Saturday heating, with possible rain in parts of the region late Saturday through Sunday. The National Weather Service notes uncertainty about the rain’s track and amounts.
Any rain reaching the area should end late Sunday. That wetter turn is a notable update from Hoodline’s earlier forecast, as forecasters consider possible rain in parts of the region.
Another Warm Day Arrives Monday
Columbus Day brings another sunny day with a high near 90. Forecasts from Tuesday onward are much less predictable, with precipitation chances likely to lull Tuesday and Wednesday.
No watches, warnings or advisories are in effect for the St. Louis area.
