Austin is starting Tuesday with temperatures in the mid-60s and a forecast that looks more like lingering summer than late October. Clouds will hang around for much of the day, but the city should still warm to about 83 degrees with light east-southeast winds.

Tuesday brings a 10% daytime rain chance in the National Weather Service forecast, while the October 26 Hoodline forecast gives a 20% chance after 4 p.m. The National Weather Service expects another warm day Wednesday, reaching about 85 degrees with a 20% chance of showers or thunderstorms.

Friday Is The Week’s Main Weather Question

Thursday should be mostly cloudy and cooler, with a high near 81 and a 30% chance of showers. The National Weather Service says better rain chances are mainly along and west of I-35, with spotty chances in eastern counties. Friday is the week’s best bet for wet weather, with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms, a high near 78 and east-southeast winds that could gust to 20 mph.

Locally heavy rain remains possible somewhere across South-Central Texas Thursday and Friday, although Austin’s forecast is not currently pointing to a major storm. Compared with Monday’s forecast, rain chances have eased Tuesday through Thursday while Friday remains the main day to watch.

Warm Halloween Weekend Still In Play

Saturday brings a high near 83 degrees, partly sunny skies and a slight chance of showers or thunderstorms during the morning. Saturday night should turn partly cloudy, setting up a mostly pleasant Sunday with a high around 87 and only a small rain risk.

Mild to warm conditions continue through Monday. For outdoor plans, the forecast is mostly heat and clouds through midweek, with Friday the day most likely to require an umbrella and a backup plan.
