Miami wakes up Saturday with mostly clear skies and temperatures around 78 degrees, but the calm is temporary. Showers and thunderstorms are likely later in the day, with a high near 84 and east winds around 17 mph. Gusts could reach 24 mph, adding a blustery edge to Halloween plans across the city.
Rain chances are 60% Saturday and 70% Saturday night as showers and thunderstorms become more likely. Overnight temperatures should settle near 75 degrees, so it will stay warm, humid and unsettled well after sunset.
Sunday Brings The Bigger Flooding Concern
Sunday looks wetter and more disruptive, with a 90% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mostly cloudy skies and a high near 82. East winds could gust as high as 30 mph, while Sunday night remains stormy with another 90% rain chance.
The Miami area is also under a coastal flood advisory through Sunday evening, with flooding possible in low-lying lots, parks and roads during high tide. The National Weather Service says isolated road closures are possible, and drivers should never go around barricades or enter water of unknown depth.
Heavy rain could become a bigger issue Sunday afternoon into early Monday, when the region faces a slight risk of isolated flash flooding. Rainfall could average 1.5 to 2 inches, with 3 to 5 inches possible in heavier bands.
Beach Conditions Stay Dangerous
A high rip current risk continues along the Miami-Dade coast through Monday morning. Anyone heading to the beach should swim near a lifeguard, and swimmers caught in a rip current should float, avoid fighting the current and move parallel to the shoreline if possible.
The unsettled pattern continues Monday, when showers and thunderstorms are again likely and temperatures reach about 83 degrees. Rain chances ease Tuesday and Wednesday, dropping to 40% Tuesday and 30% Wednesday, before mostly sunny conditions and only a slight shower chance arrive Thursday.
The weekend forecast includes stronger winds, coastal flooding and wetter weather from Saturday through Monday. For now, the practical plan is simple: keep outdoor Halloween activities flexible, allow extra time on flood-prone roads and skip the surf until conditions improve.
