Officers rushed to a Sumner County home around 4 a.m. Sunday after a resident reported someone had broken in and attempted to sexually assault them inside the house. The suspect bolted as officers arrived, triggering a manhunt that stretched across multiple jurisdictions before ending hours later with an arrest in Hendersonville.
According to the WSMV report, the Sumner County Sheriff's Office said officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a burglary and sexual assault inside the home. The outlet reports that the male suspect fled as the officers arrived at the scene, kicking off a search that drew in law enforcement from across the region.
Multiple Agencies Join the Search
The Gallatin Police Department, the Hendersonville Police Department, the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Sumner County EMA all coordinated to track the suspect down, the outlet's report states. That kind of multi-agency response underscores how seriously investigators treated the search once the man fled the scene of the alleged assault.
The effort paid off. The investigation led units to a residence in Hendersonville, where the suspect — identified in the report as Kaiden Myers, though the same outlet's story also refers to him as Kaiden Mayers — was located and taken into custody, per the station's report.
Charges and Bond
He was booked for attempted aggravated rape and aggravated burglary, according to the same account. His bond was set at $600,000.
The case echoes an earlier Hendersonville incident flagged by WKRN, in which a homeowner's camera caught an attempted break-in at a Somerset Downs residence in 2024. In that case, deputies said the suspect was seen wearing a Spider-Man pullover shirt, a mask and gloves, and believed he had been checking vehicle and residential garage doors before the attempt was caught on camera. It is not clear from available reporting whether the two incidents are connected.
