Phoenix is waking up to clear skies and a crisp-by-desert-standards start Sunday, with temperatures around 61 degrees near dawn. The lower desert will warm quickly under full sunshine, topping out near 82 before easing back into the upper 70s late afternoon. Winds will be calm, becoming northwest around 5 mph, keeping the day easy for errands, patios and outdoor plans.
Warm, Dry Days Give Phoenix A Midweek Breather
The quiet stretch holds through Wednesday, with highs of 85 on Monday, 86 on Tuesday and 87 on Wednesday. Overnight lows will range from about 60 to 65 degrees, while rain chances remain near zero and winds stay light. No watches, warnings or advisories are posted for Arizona, according to the National Weather Service.
That dry run is the setup for a late-week turn. After clouds increase Wednesday night, Thursday brings a 20% chance of showers after 11 a.m. and a high near 85. Thursday night, rain showers become possible at 50%, with new rainfall amounts between one-tenth and one-quarter of an inch possible.
Rain Chances Linger Into Halloween Weekend
Friday looks cooler and wetter, with a 70% chance of showers. The high should reach only about 76 degrees, with another half-inch to three-quarters of an inch possible.
Halloween Saturday stays mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of showers, a high near 73. For now, Sunday through Wednesday is the cleanest window for outdoor plans, but late-week events may need a backup plan.
The shift marks a notable update from Hoodline’s earlier forecast, which highlighted a dry warm-up through midweek. Phoenix residents planning Halloween activities should check the forecast again as Thursday’s rain window gets closer.
