The free Fulton Plaza concert on Thursday, October 15, has three acts scheduled: VelvetVenom at noon, queer indie performer sapphicboi at 1 p.m. and musician and educator Dan Dectis at 2 p.m. The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department’s Facebook post lists the lineup and times.

The performers

VelvetVenom features vocalist and guitarist Roland Sayn, vocalist Leta Gibney, bassist Bryan John and drummer Ramses Amadeus. The group’s rock and pop sound was featured in studio footage shared by Sign Hill Studios on YouTube.

Sapphicboi, who grew up in San Francisco, returned to Bay Area stages this year after 15 years as a signed artist based in Los Angeles, according to a post on the performer’s Instagram account.

Dectis, a San Francisco-based musician and educator, plays saxophone, piano and guitar and regularly performs with Mesa Trio. His website says he founded the weekly Community Music Hangout at a Golden Gate Park public piano in November 2022. He also hosts open jazz jam sessions in North Beach.

The concert is at 147 Fulton St., where the Illuminate page lists the Civic Center Soundtrack series on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 3 p.m. through October. The current season began in April.

Civic Center planning context

Managed by the San Francisco Planning Department, the Civic Center Public Realm Plan sets out a community-built vision for medium- and long-term improvements to Civic Center plazas, streets and other public spaces. It provides broader context for Fulton Plaza as an event site, but does not establish that a specific change at the plaza was completed before the concert series.

The series and other public programming

According to Illuminate, the first two Civic Center Soundtrack seasons brought more than 100 free concerts to Fulton Plaza, and the 2026 season is the series’ third. The current season’s dates and schedule are listed above; the announcement does not provide dates for each of the earlier seasons. The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department also lists the Heart of the City Farmers Market as separate Fulton Plaza programming. At another city venue, the department says Illuminate LIVE’s 2026 Golden Gate Bandshell season has more than 125 free performances scheduled through mid-November.
