Three people were stabbed near a roadside tavern in the small Columbia County community of Goble on Saturday, with two of the victims airlifted for treatment, according to Columbia County Sheriff Brian Pixley. All three are expected to survive, the sheriff said.
The stabbing happened near U.S. Highway 30 and Nicolai Road, according to KGW, which reported that the Columbia County Sheriff's Office confirmed two of the injured had to be airlifted to the hospital. Community-member video showed crime-scene tape around one vehicle.
Goble sits along U.S. Highway 30 between St. Helens and Rainier, and traces its roots to an 1890s logging and steamboat boomtown on the Columbia River, according to Travel Oregon. St. Helens police officers put up crime-scene tape. Goble Tavern, located at 70255 Columbia River Highway, received a perfect compliance score in a November 2025 food safety inspection, per the Columbia County Spotlight.
Victims Flown to Portland Trauma Centers
Two victims were airlifted for treatment. Emergency air ambulance service in the county is operated by Life Flight Network, which provides rural service; Columbia County itself lacks a Level 1 trauma facility.
Sheriff Pixley said the community faces no ongoing threat following the incident. He indicated he plans to issue a public statement on Monday after meeting with the Columbia County Major Crimes Team.
Earlier Shooting Near Goble
A September 10 shooting into a vehicle near Goble led to the arrest and booking of a 30-year-old Sandy man after a September 23 search, a case Hoodline previously reported.
No further details on a suspect or motive have been released ahead of Monday's planned briefing.
