A silk camp shirt splashed with teal and coral, a cigar-cutting station, and a dive bar known for its disco ball and pool table are about to collide at Freehand Miami. Tommy Bahama and Ray's Hometown Bar are teaming up for a weeklong takeover of Ray's Miami Beach location, running Nov. 9 through Nov. 15, complete with a limited-edition apparel capsule and a launch party packed with prizes.
A Capsule Built for Miami Beach
The collaboration centers on a capsule collection that will launch at Ray's location inside the Freehand Miami boutique hotel, according to WWD. The lineup includes a signature Tommy Bahama silk camp shirt reimagined with custom Ray's Miami graphics, along with a limited-edition T-shirt and cap. Everything leans into teal and coral tones meant to echo the city's architecture and the Floridian landscape, the outlet reports.
The gear also carries an updated version of Tommy Bahama's marlin logo, now stamped with a new tagline: “Drink 'em with or without bait.” The capsule goes on sale Nov. 9 at Ray's Hometown Bar Miami and online, per the same report.
A Week of Happy Hours and a Launch Party
The takeover itself runs daily from Nov. 9 to Nov. 15 and will include special programming alongside Tommy Bahama-inspired cocktails, plus daily happy hours, the report notes. Freehand Miami hotel guests will also get complimentary access to Tommy Bahama-branded beach chairs and umbrellas for the duration of the weeklong event.
The centerpiece lands Nov. 12, when a launch event lets customers shop the capsule in person, stop by a cigar-cutting station, and spin a wheel for prizes. It's the kind of activation built for lingering rather than rushing through a transaction, which tracks with how Authentic Hospitality partner Carlos Quirarte describes the pairing: he said Ray's and Tommy Bahama share an affinity for drinks, company and relaxed hospitality, calling the two brands a natural fit for Miami. Quirarte added that the collaboration is aimed at people who want to remain on vacation — a sentiment that doubles as a mission statement for the whole week.
A Lower East Side Bar Goes National
Ray's Hometown Bar built its reputation as a staple on New York's Lower East Side before owner Authentic Hospitality expanded the concept to Brooklyn, Detroit and Miami, per WWD's reporting. The chain's Detroit location debuted September 1, following the earlier rollout of locations in Brooklyn and Miami, according to a separate report from Nation's Restaurant News.
Ray's Miami itself sits at 2727 Indian Creek Dr. in Miami Beach, where it's billed on the Freehand Hotels website as a hometown bar serving bites, beers and cocktails, complete with a disco ball and pool table. The bar joined Freehand Miami in December 2024 as what the hotel calls a laid-back watering hole for locals and out-of-towners alike. This isn't the first time Tommy Bahama and Ray's have crossed paths, either — the two previously partnered on a camp shirt collection back in 2024.
Beyond the apparel drop, Ray's Miami has built a following with its own in-house programming, including “ThursTays,” a Taylor Swift-themed night, according to Vogue. That same report notes that Hawaii might be next on the list as Authentic Hospitality weighs where to plant Ray's flag after Detroit and Miami.
