Indianapolis is waking up to clear skies and temperatures near 48 degrees Saturday, with a mostly sunny afternoon headed for a high around 71. The weekend forecast stays unusually gentle for late October: dry, bright and warm enough to make a jacket optional by midday.
Sunny Saturday, Warmer Sunday
Saturday's light east-southeast wind should keep conditions comfortable, with no rain expected. Temperatures fall back to around 46 Saturday night under partly cloudy skies, then rebound to about 74 Sunday with sunshine and another dry forecast, according to the National Weather Service Indianapolis.
Fog Possible In Low-Lying Areas
Patchy ground fog may develop late at night and during the early morning hours through Sunday morning, especially in low-lying spots. Drivers could see brief visibility reductions, but no watches, warnings or advisories are in effect.
Warm, Dry Stretch Continues
Mostly sunny skies and highs around 74 are expected Monday, with Tuesday near 71 and Wednesday near 75. Thursday should remain sunny near 74, followed by a mostly sunny Friday around 72 as rain chances stay near zero through much of the week.
The pattern may turn wetter around Halloween weekend as showers become more possible, though the timing remains uncertain. For now, Indianapolis is lined up for several days of above-normal afternoon temperatures and classic crisp fall mornings.
