A disagreement over dropping off children at a Wellington home escalated into gunfire last October, and now the woman accused of driving the car that night is facing felony charges. Jillian Janae Guervil, 29, told detectives her front-seat passenger fired at the residence, according to an arrest affidavit, though she maintained she never expected the shooting to happen.

Guervil is accused of driving a light-pink Mercedes-Benz during the October 24, 2025, shooting, while her passenger fired three shots toward the home, according to cbs12.com. The gunfire struck the home’s garage and a parked Range Rover outside, the station reported. As reported by WPBF 25, investigators say a vehicle and a home were both struck by the gunfire that night.

According to the affidavit, Guervil acknowledged driving to Wellington the night of the shooting and said she knew her passenger had a gun, but told detectives she did not know he would shoot at the residence and insisted the shooting was not planned. Per the same affidavit, texts between Guervil and one of the victims inside the home suggested she had thought about firing additional shots herself, cbs12.com reported.

How the Dispute Started

The confrontation began when Guervil attempted to drop off children at the residence, and disagreements over arrangements for the children followed, according to cbs12.com’s account of the affidavit. Guervil then followed the victims toward a Walgreens near Wellington Trace and Forest Hill Boulevard before the Mercedes was seen on surveillance footage returning to the neighborhood around 10 p.m., the station reported.

Investigators identified Freddie Lee Adkins, 20, as the alleged shooter and determined that he and Guervil had a romantic relationship, per cbs12.com. Adkins is listed as a co-defendant in the case, though the evidence available does not establish his specific charges or current custody status.

Shell Casings and Surveillance Footage

Deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office opened the investigation after responding to the shooting on October 24, 2025. Investigators later found two spent .300 Blackout shell casings underneath the front passenger seat of Guervil’s Mercedes, along with a live .300 Blackout round and a spent casing near the scene, with the casings matching the caliber of evidence recovered at the location, according to the affidavit.

Surveillance video showed a light-colored Mercedes-Benz driving through the neighborhood before three shots were fired from the front passenger seat, and the car then left the area, investigators said. Two witnesses identified Guervil as the driver of the light-pink Mercedes seen in the neighborhood, according to deputies. Phone data for both Guervil and Adkins was consistent with their devices being in or near the shooting area around the time it happened, the affidavit states.

Charges Filed and Evidence Reviewed

Investigators determined that probable cause existed to charge both Guervil and Adkins with discharging a firearm from a vehicle, discharging a firearm into a building, and criminal mischief involving more than $1,000 in damage, per the affidavit. Guervil now faces those same three counts: discharging a firearm from a vehicle, firing into a building, and criminal mischief causing more than $1,000 in damage.

Investigators said they relied on surveillance footage, license-plate reader information, cellphone data, social media records and messages connecting Guervil and Adkins to the incident in building their case. Deputies also seized Guervil’s Mercedes-Benz as part of the investigation. The available evidence does not establish the case’s current court status, bond conditions, or final disposition.
