A 33-year-old man is facing four charges after police say he broke into a West Price Hill home on Oct. 15, pointed a gun at the person inside, struck them in the head several times and fled — only to be tracked down and arrested by a K9 unit that night. Terrez Williamson is now being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center on a $166,000 bond.

According to FOX19, District 3 officers were dispatched to West 8th Street after a report that a suspect had climbed through a window into a home. Police say that once inside, the suspect pointed a gun at the victim and struck them in the head several times before running away.

K9 Unit Tracks Down Suspect Same Night

Colerain Township police and a K9 unit responded and were able to track down the suspect, arresting him that same night, the station's report states. Officers recovered a .45-caliber handgun during the arrest, according to the same account.

Williamson is now facing charges of aggravated burglary, having weapons under disability, tampering with evidence and obstructing official business, per the report. Under Ohio law, aggravated burglary is classified as a felony of the first degree, according to the Ohio Revised Code, while having weapons while under disability is a felony of the third degree under a separate section of the Ohio Revised Code.

What the Tampering Charge Covers

The tampering-with-evidence charge against Williamson stems from a section of Ohio law that addresses altering, destroying, concealing or removing a record, document or thing with the purpose of impairing its value or availability as evidence, as well as knowingly using a false record, document or thing to mislead a public official, according to the relevant Ohio Revised Code section.

Williamson remains in custody at the Hamilton County Justice Center, where his bond has been set at $166,000, the report notes.
