Chicago is starting Monday with clear skies, light winds and a forecast that looks almost suspiciously cooperative. Temperatures in the upper 40s and low 50s this morning will climb into the mid-60s, with sunny conditions and no rain expected across the city.
Monday's high should reach about 66 degrees before temperatures ease back into the low 60s later in the afternoon. A light southwest breeze will shift toward the east as a weak lake breeze develops, so the lakefront may feel a little cooler than neighborhoods farther inland.
A Week Of Sunny Skies
Tuesday will bring another sunny day with a high near 66, followed by mostly clear skies Tuesday night and a low around 50. Wednesday through Friday will stay mostly sunny, with highs near 67 each day and overnight lows in the low to mid-50s, according to the National Weather Service Chicago.
Winds should remain light through the week, generally staying below 10 mph. The extended forecast calls for dry conditions and temperatures running above the seasonal average, with no watches, warnings or advisories in effect for the Chicago area.
Weekend Plans Get A Weather Break
Saturday looks mostly sunny with a high near 68, while Sunday should be partly sunny and reach about 69 degrees. Rain chances remain near zero through Saturday and only rise slightly Sunday, making this a favorable stretch for outdoor plans, neighborhood walks and lakefront time.
Evenings will still feel like fall, with lows mostly in the 50s. The best bet for a jacket-free afternoon is the middle of the day, while early mornings and areas near Lake Michigan may remain noticeably cooler.
