A woman was seriously injured after being stabbed at a Shell gas station on Briley Parkway in Nashville Monday morning, with officers descending on the scene and roping off the pumps as they investigated. The attack happened at one of the busiest commercial corridors near Nashville International Airport, leaving police focused on a single vehicle parked at the pumps as they tried to piece together what happened.
Officers were called to the Shell station at 801 Briley Parkway, near the airport, around 8:15 a.m. Monday, according to WKRN News 2. Metro police said the woman was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries, though no further details about her condition were released.
Investigators Zero In On a Vehicle at the Pumps
At the scene, officers blocked off access to the station with caution tape and concentrated their investigation around a vehicle parked at the gas pumps, per the same report. Police had not immediately released additional information about what led to the stabbing, who may have been involved, or whether a suspect had been identified. WKRN News 2 described the case as a developing story and said it would continue updating its article as new information becomes available.
Another Recent Stabbing Nearby
The Briley Parkway attack comes after a separate stabbing just south of that corridor, at the Skyliner Apartments on Dickerson Pike, where police said a fight broke out and a stabbing was reported just before 2 a.m., according to Fox 17. In that case, officers arriving at the apartment complex found that a woman had been stabbed; she was taken to the hospital and was expected to recover, Fox 17 reported. Police in that incident also said they were continuing to investigate and had not shared additional details at the time.
No connection between the two incidents has been established, and the available reporting does not point to a broader pattern of stabbings in the area. Monday's case at the Shell station remains under investigation, with Metro police yet to say whether anyone has been identified in connection with the attack.
