San Jose started Wednesday under cloudy skies and temperatures near 57 degrees, but the gray is expected to give way to sunshine by late morning. The city should reach around 69 degrees, setting up a quick turn from recent showers to a much warmer weekend.
The last rain chances are fading before daybreak, with little to no precipitation expected through next week. That is a notable shift from Tuesday’s forecast, which focused on a wetter commute and lingering showers.
Sunny Wednesday, Foggy Thursday Morning
Wednesday afternoon will be mostly sunny, with northwest winds increasing to 10 mph and gusts up to 20 mph. Wednesday night will turn mostly cloudy, with patchy fog possible after 1 a.m. and a low near 48 degrees.
Thursday morning will be mostly cloudy through midmorning, followed by gradual clearing and a high near 72. Overnight lows will remain cool, mostly in the mid- to upper 40s, so the classic Bay Area outfit strategy—sunglasses plus a jacket—still applies.
Warm Weekend Arrives Across The South Bay
The warming trend continues Friday, when San Jose could reach 74 degrees, followed by a sunny Saturday with a high near 78. Sunday should stay mostly sunny and mild near 77, while Monday and Tuesday settle into the mid-70s with little chance of rain.
Inland neighborhoods should enjoy the warmest temperatures, while coastal areas remain cooler. The National Weather Service expects the broader region to stay dry into early next week, with any meaningful rain chances remaining well to the north for now.
Coastal Flooding And Beach Hazards Continue
A Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect through Monday for vulnerable Bayshore areas around San Francisco, San Pablo and Monterey bays. The National Weather Service says high tides and additional water from thermal expansion could produce minor flooding near the shoreline, even as inland San Jose stays dry.
Pacific beaches face a separate hazard from Thursday through Saturday, when breaking waves of 12 to 16 feet could bring sneaker waves and strong rip currents. Beachgoers should stay out of the water, avoid jetties and rocks, and never turn their backs on the ocean.
