Antonio Javon Miller was arrested after a Halloween traffic incident in Coopertown in which police say he struck an officer with his car and fled. He faces multiple charges, and his bond was set at $185,000. The incident began Saturday evening as officers directed trick-or-treat traffic through a congested subdivision.

Officers were directing Halloween traffic at Oak Pointe Drive and Kacie Drive around 6:10 p.m. Saturday when they spotted a blue Dodge Challenger being driven recklessly through the congested streets, Smokey Barn News reported. The outlet identified the driver as Miller, of Coopertown.

According to police, Miller initially left after officers tried to speak with him, then returned to the intersection. Officers ordered him to stop at gunpoint, police said. When a vehicle ahead of him moved out of the way, Miller drove off again, prompting officers to pursue him back into the subdivision.

Police Account of the Incident

Police say the Dodge Challenger struck an officer on foot during an attempted stop. Miller then fled toward Highway 49 West, according to WSMV. The pursuit ended at the dead end of Joey Court in the Oak Pointe subdivision, where officers arrested him, the station reported.

The officer sustained minor injuries and was evaluated at the scene by Robertson County EMS, then taken to a hospital and later released, WSMV reported. Police have not released the officer's identity or further details about the injuries.

Charges and Bond

Miller's bond was set at $185,000, WSMV reported. Reported charges include four counts of reckless endangerment and three counts of obedience to a traffic control device, along with other charges. No court disposition, hearing date or plea has been reported.

Statewide Pedestrian-Crash Context

A Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security report counted 7,822 crashes involving pedestrians statewide from 2020 to 2024. That statewide total does not establish how common pedestrian-involved crashes are in Robertson County or whether their local frequency has changed.

As with any pending case, the charges against Miller remain allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
