A new entertainment venue is set to turn Tualatin into Oregon's home base for competitive game shows. Game Show Battle Rooms is scheduled to open its doors at Nyberg Rivers on December 9, 2026, marking the company's 26th location nationwide and its first in the state.
According to EIN Presswire, the Tualatin venue will span more than 10,000 square feet, which the company describes as its largest location yet and the largest game show room in the country. The space will house three large game show arenas featuring two formats, Classic Showdowns and Primetime Showdowns, each running 60 to 75 minutes.
Game Show Battle Rooms was founded in 2017 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, per the same release, before expanding into a nationwide chain of live, hosted game show venues. The Tualatin location can host groups ranging from 8 to 108 guests, with ticket prices running $37.95 to $39.95 per person plus tax depending on the day of the week and seasonal demand.
Full Bar and In-House Catering Set It Apart
Unlike some competitors, the Tualatin venue plans to serve its own food alongside alcohol. The company describes itself, per the release, as the only game show room experience in the Portland area to offer in-house food, custom catering and a full bar, with its website listing beer, hard seltzers, canned cocktails and wine available onsite, according to Game Show Battle Rooms's Portland page.
The venue's booking page notes that its three custom game show arenas will operate seven days a week, per Game Show Battle Rooms's reservation site, though it cautions that minimum guest requirements may increase during peak holiday season. The same Portland page notes a private room is also available for meetings or birthday celebrations before or after a game show session.
Bigger Groups Have Options Too
For groups that outgrow the 108-guest cap, the company offers a mobile Roadshow format that brings the full production to an office, hotel or other venue, a setup the company describes as ideal above 80 people, according to its holiday party page. A virtual version is also available for teams spread across different offices, per the same source.
Nyberg Rivers' addition of the game show venue fits into the shopping center's broader push to round out its restaurant and retail offerings with entertainment for area families and corporate groups, per the EIN Presswire release, which cited remarks attributed to David Sauer about the venue complementing the destination.
How Portland's Entry Fits a Growing Niche
Game Show Battle Rooms has been expanding aggressively outside Oregon as well. In San Antonio, the chain's planned 3,700-square-foot location is under construction, with building work slated to begin in October and wrap by January 1, 2027, according to the San Antonio Current, which reported the chain had 24 locations nationwide at the time, including units in Austin, Houston and Dallas.
The broader live game-show entertainment category has other players too. Great Big Game Show, a separate chain offering live-hosted trivia and mini-game experiences, opened a 2,200-square-foot location at Short Pump Town Center in Virginia featuring three rooms and around 17 rotating mini-games, according to Richmond BizSense. That venue runs hour-long sessions led by an employee host, splitting participants into two teams of up to seven people, with admission around $40 per person and children 4 and under admitted free.
Whether Tualatin's new arena draws the same kind of crowds remains to be seen, but with three custom-built rooms and two show formats, Game Show Battle Rooms is betting that Portland-area groups are ready for a different kind of night out.
