Little Rock's forecast high for Friday is 69 degrees, with sunshine expected later. The city will cool to around 42 degrees Friday night before a much colder weekend settles in.
Sunny Friday Gives Way To Chilly Nights
A dry cold front is moving through Arkansas, bringing winds that shift from northwest to north-northwest and clearing skies across Little Rock. The National Weather Service in Little Rock expects no meaningful rain through the forecast period.
Saturday will be partly sunny with a high near 63, but temperatures will fall to around 39 Saturday night. Sunday should rebound to about 66 under sunny skies, though another chilly morning near 40 degrees is expected Monday.
Frost Concerns Grow Outside The City
The weather service says parts of Arkansas could need frost or even freeze products during the early mornings this weekend and Monday, although no watches, warnings or advisories are posted for Little Rock. Gardeners and anyone with cold-sensitive plants may want to cover them before the weekend's colder nights.
The cooler weekend is a sharper update to the earlier Little Rock outlook, which highlighted the first round of colder mornings but had less detail on the incoming dry front.
Warm 70s Return Next Week
Monday should reach near 70, followed by mostly sunny skies and a high around 72 Tuesday. Thursday looks mostly sunny again with a high near 69.
