Nick Cave is heading back to San Francisco for two nights of unscripted conversation and solo piano, with his Conversations With Nick Cave: An Evening of Talk and Music tour set to stop at the Orpheum Theatre on April 16 and 17, 2027. The shows pair audience questions with stripped-down performances pulled from across his catalog, and presale registration opens this week.
A Tour Built on Questions, Not Setlists
The San Francisco dates are part of a 25-date run across the United States and Canada next spring, according to Variety. The format, as described by the outlet, blends “a mixture of unvetted audience questions and intimate performances of Cave's extensive catalog at the piano.” It marks a return for Cave to a show he first brought to North America in 2019, with the new run billed as a follow-up to that earlier tour, per the same report.
Cave's own website lists the outing as “Conversations with Nick Cave – North America 2027,” confirming the tour's branding for fans tracking dates across the continent. The Orpheum Theatre, located on Market Street according to its ATG venue listing, is one of three venues the site currently shows hosting the Conversations tour.
Two Nights on San Francisco's Market Street
San Francisco will get a rare double dose, with back-to-back performances scheduled for Friday, April 16, and Saturday, April 17. Variety's reporting lists the dates plainly: “Friday, April 16, 2027 – San Francisco, CA – Orpheum Theatre” and “Saturday, April 17, 2027 – San Francisco, CA – Orpheum Theatre.” For a format built around spontaneous audience interaction, two consecutive nights at the same room means local fans could see wildly different shows depending on which night they attend.
Word of the stop first circulated locally through ATG San Francisco's Facebook page.
When Tickets Go on Sale
According to Variety, a presale is scheduled to begin November 11 at 10 a.m. local time and run for 24 hours, with registration required for access. The general on-sale is set to follow on November 13 at 10 a.m. local time. That means San Francisco fans hoping to lock in seats for either night have a narrow window once the presale opens Wednesday before tickets open up more broadly two days later.
