Phoenix is waking to clear skies and a crisp 61 degrees Thursday, with the Valley headed for a sunny afternoon near 78. The forecast stays dry and gets warmer through the weekend, giving outdoor plans an unusually easy run for early November.
Sunshine Today, Warmer Weekend Ahead
Thursday’s temperatures should climb through the 70s before easing late in the afternoon, while winds of 0 to 5 mph have an east component through the afternoon, shifting to north/northwest late in the afternoon. Thursday night turns partly cloudy with a low near 57, and Friday brings mostly sunny skies with a high around 79.
Saturday and Sunday look like the warmest stretch, with sunny skies and highs near 79 Saturday and 80 Sunday. Monday and Tuesday should remain around 80, followed by sunny conditions and a high of 82 on Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11; overnight lows stay mostly in the upper 50s.
Dry In Phoenix, But Rivers Still Running High
Rain is not expected in Phoenix through at least the middle of next week, although the National Weather Service Phoenix forecast says a few light mountain showers could develop Friday in central and eastern Arizona. The updated outlook extends the mild stretch outlined in Hoodline’s Wednesday report into next week.
The weather service also says the Salt and Gila rivers will continue seeing high-volume flows through at least the weekend because of dam releases. Clear skies are not a green light for river recreation, so stay away from fast-moving water, riverbanks and low-water crossings, and follow any posted closures.
No watches, warnings or advisories are listed for Phoenix in the current forecast. For most residents, the week ahead looks like classic desert weather: cool mornings, sunny afternoons and just enough warmth to make the jacket decision unnecessarily complicated.
