Paramount Theatre is bringing The Second City's Nut-Cracking Holiday Revue to its Copley Theatre stage in downtown Aurora, with performances running Nov. 20 through Dec. 23. The show promises a fast-paced, interactive mix of sketches, songs and improv built to poke fun at everything audiences both love and dread about the holiday season.
Billed as a fast-paced, interactive comedy revue stuffed with seasonal songs, sketches and a heaping dose of Second City's signature improv, according to the official event listing at Paramount's venue site, the production zeroes in on the stuff of holiday legend. Classic family gatherings, office parties, holiday movies, and Mariah Carey played on infinite repeat will all be severely lampooned, the venue's description states. It is the latest entry in a run of holiday comedy revues Second City has staged at the Copley Theatre in recent seasons, following a similarly structured interactive show the previous year, as Shaw Local reported at the time.
Showtimes and the Thanksgiving Exception
Regular performances are scheduled Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 3 and 8 p.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m., according to BroadwayWorld. There is no show on Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 26, the outlet notes, giving cast and crew the holiday off even as the run otherwise stretches through the season.
The production adds extra performances during the final stretch before Christmas. Added holiday-week shows are set for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 21-23, at 7:30 p.m., per the same BroadwayWorld report. That's a notably different added-performance schedule than the 2025 comparable production, Jack Frost Roasting on an Open Fire, which instead added a Wednesday, Nov. 26 show along with Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 22-23 performances, Shaw Local reported.
Tickets, Venue Details and Age Guidance
Tickets are priced at $45 when purchased in person, with additional fees applying to phone and online orders, according to the venue's event page. That's a modest increase from the $44 ticket price listed for the 2025 holiday revue, per Shaw Local's earlier coverage. All seats are reserved, and there is no drink minimum, the venue notes.
Paramount's Copley Theatre sits at 8 E. Galena Blvd. in downtown Aurora, a location Shaw Local has previously described as being just across the street from Paramount's main stage. Lobby doors open one hour before each performance, per the official listing.
The venue also flags an age guideline for the run: Copley Comedy Series shows may include mature adult content or language, and attendees must be 18 or older, according to the event page. Anyone planning a night out at the Nut-Cracking Holiday Revue should keep that restriction in mind before buying tickets for the full family.
