A St. Bernard Parish deputy is set to compete in the ring. The St. Bernard Sheriff's Office announced that Deputy Brock Cadman will represent the department at the 2025 Bayou Fighting Championship's Battle of the Badges, a charity boxing event set for Nov. 21 at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner.
According to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office, Cadman works as a deputy in the Field Operations Bureau Patrol Division. The Battle of the Badges is described as a friendly boxing competition among local first responders, all aimed at raising money for local first-responder charities, according to The St. Bernard Voice.

Cadman to Compete
Cadman is set to represent the Sheriff's Office at the charity boxing event.
The Battle of the Badges concept has roots beyond St. Bernard Parish. A separate installment of the event, held at the Mel Ott Center in Gretna, brought together police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel and military members competing to raise money for local first-responder charities and Martial Arts for Kids, according to Crescent City Sports. That report described amateur bouts run in three rounds of one minute and 15 seconds, with fighters matched by age and weight.
The same report said those bouts were supervised by officials from the Louisiana Boxing, Wrestling and MMA Commission, with ringside physicians and EMS personnel on hand. The event's organizer and referee said funds raised go directly to injured first responders and their families, though that statement pertained to the Gretna event and does not establish who benefits from the Nov. 13 fundraiser in Kenner.
Cadman is scheduled to compete at the Nov. 21 fundraiser, which raises money for local first-responder charities.
