A new Chicken Salad Chick is taking shape on East Main Street in St. Charles, filling the space once occupied by Noodles & Company, with franchisees Kim and Garrett Seaman aiming to open sometime in spring. The couple announced the project on October 29, though no firm opening date has been set.
The St. Charles restaurant will sit at 3871 E. Main Street, according to WhatNow, which reported the location is currently under construction. “We cannot wait to bring a little chicken salad happiness to the community!” the Seamans said in announcing the project, per the outlet's report.
Third Location for the Fox Valley Franchisees
This marks the third Chicagoland location for Kim and Garrett Seaman, who got their start with the brand's first Chicago-area restaurant in Batavia, which opened in 2022. The couple later expanded the brand to Glen Ellyn, opening a location at 293 Roosevelt Road there, the same article notes.
The Batavia restaurant's exact address has been reported differently across outlets. WhatNow lists it as 200 N. Randall Road, while the Daily Herald previously reported the address as 220 North Randall Road when that shop opened. That earlier Daily Herald report described Batavia as the chain's fourth location in Illinois at the time.
What's on the Menu
Chicken Salad Chick built its name on signature salads and sandwiches, with sides like broccoli salad, fresh fruit, and pasta salad rounding out meals, per the WhatNow report. The chain's Scoop Meal, a staple of the concept, includes chicken salad or pimento cheese served with crackers.
The Seamans aren't newcomers to the brand's growth plans in the area. Back in 2022, the Daily Herald reported the couple was already eyeing two more locations beyond Batavia, potentially on the east side of St. Charles and in Wheaton, within three to four years of that original opening.
A Growing Footprint in the Suburbs
The new St. Charles spot will be near the Fox Haven Square development on the east side of town, and it's set among familiar retail neighbors. Potbelly and Starbucks occupy a building on the south end of East Main Street, while Portillo's, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, and Poke Bros sit in the same plaza, according to WhatNow's report.
Chicken Salad Chick has been expanding steadily across the Chicago area and the broader Midwest. The chain opened a Naperville restaurant at 2835 Aurora Avenue, Suite 113, in November 2025, described at the time as its second Chicagoland location and sixth in Illinois, according to verdictfoodservice.com. That same report noted the company entered agreements with six new franchisees in October 2025 to expand further across the Midwest.
The brand's Glen Ellyn location, owned and operated by the Seamans under their company Fox Valley Chick, opened with a grand opening celebration on November 18, 2025, according to a release carried by prnewswire.com. That release described the Seamans as experienced franchisees committed to growing the brand after their run with the Batavia restaurant. Chicken Salad Chick has grown well beyond its Georgia roots, too — a 2022 Daily Herald report pegged the chain at more than 200 restaurants across 17 states even before its recent Midwest push.
