Tempur-Pedic is preparing to open a new store at Fashion Valley, bringing the mattress brand to 7007 Friars Road in San Diego. Company representatives say the store is expected to welcome customers in late February or early March 2027, marking the brand's third storefront in the city.
The Fashion Valley location will join two existing San Diego stores, according to WhatNow: one at Westfield UTC on La Jolla Village Drive and another on Girard Avenue in La Jolla. Tempur-Pedic's own site lists the UTC shop at 4525 La Jolla Village Drive, Suite 50, confirming the brand's existing footprint in the area.
The opening will expand Tempur-Pedic's retail presence across San Diego, giving shoppers in the Fashion Valley area a closer option for testing out the brand's signature mattresses. The company's retail assortment includes mattresses, adjustable bases, ergonomic sleep systems, pillows, bedding and other accessories, the report notes.
A Material Born From Space Technology
Tempur-Pedic is an American mattress and sleep-products brand best known for its memory foam, and the TEMPUR material at the center of its products traces its origins back to technology originally developed for NASA, per the same account. That space-age pedigree has long been part of the brand's identity as it has grown into a familiar name in mattress showrooms nationwide.
The company operates under a larger corporate umbrella. Tempur-Pedic is part of Somnigroup International, formerly known as Tempur Sealy International, and that portfolio also includes Sealy, Stearns & Foster and Mattress Firm, the report states.
More Retail Change Coming to Fashion Valley
Tempur-Pedic won't be the only new name arriving at the mall. Other planned retail additions at Fashion Valley include FENDI, J.Crew and Longchamp, as well as a second Lids location, according to the same report. Exact timing for those other storefronts has not been detailed.
For now, the clearest marker on the calendar remains Tempur-Pedic's own target window of late February or early March 2027. Shoppers hoping to browse mattresses closer to the heart of San Diego's retail corridor will have to wait a few more months before the Friars Road doors open.
