Tennessee Gears Up for Return of Red-cockaded Woodpecker in Statewide Conservation Effort
Tennessee is working with federal agencies to reintroduce the Red-cockaded Woodpecker, which disappeared from the state in 1994. The project involves habitat restoration and aims to see the woodpecker return by 2028.
