In one incident, a man was robbed and attacked by a group of seven people after accidentally dropping his phone.

The death is being investigated as a homicide.

A carjacker was able to avoid arrest and a man was assaulted after trying to stop a bike theft, among other crimes reported in the Tenderloin in early October.

The victim was taken to a hospital in life-threatening condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Tenderloin saw an uptick in gun violence in the month of September, and a woman was robbed of 26 bottles of body spray.

“We don’t need another severe or fatal crash to tell us that drastic changes are needed in the Tenderloin,” said a pedestrian advocate.

The cops at the Tenderloin Station have responded to reports of mailbox arson and knife- and gun-wielding robbers in recent weeks.
